Chris Martenson and his business partner Adam Taggart, of Peak Prosperity, and Al Korelin are guests on the radio program this week.
The world is becoming ever more dangerous due to massive and growing financial, energy and environmental imbalances. Not only are financial markets in peril, but critical systems and global resources we depend on for life’s conveniences are starting to fail. There will be few places to take shelter from this coming storm. Most people assume current comforts will last indefinitely.
Then when tragedy occurs seemingly out of the blue, ill-prepared citizens will panic with disastrous results. From their new book “Prosper!,” Martinson and Taggart explain why our current comforts are unsustainable and given current realities, what to do to sustain a more secure, healthy, happy and spiritually more fulfilling life.
Al joined us to talk about his radio show, the Korelin Economics Report as well as growing affiliation between this show and his. Comments on the markets were shared by Michael Oliver as well.
Chris Martenson, PhD (Duke), MBA (Cornell) is an economic researcher and futurist specializing in energy and resource depletion, and co-founder of PeakProsperity.com (along with Adam Taggart). As one of the early econobloggers who forecasted the housing market collapse and stock market correction, Chris rose to prominence with the launch of his seminal video seminar: The Crash Course (also published in book form, Wiley, March 2011). It’s a popular and well-regarded distillation of the interconnected forces in the Economy, Energy and the Environment (the “Three Es” as Chris calls them) that are shaping the future, one that will be defined by increasing challenges to growth as we have known it. In addition to the analysis and commentary he writes for his site PeakProsperity.com, Chris’ insights are in high demand by the media as well as academic, civic and private organizations around the world, including institutions such as the UN, the UK House of Commons and US State Legislatures.
Adam Taggart is the President and Co-Founder of Peak Prosperity. He wears many hats, but his basic job is to handle the business side of things so that his fellow co-founder, Chris Martenson, is free to think and write.
Adam is an experienced Silicon Valley internet executive and Stanford MBA. Prior to partnering with Chris (Adam was General Manager of our earlier site, ChrisMartenson.com), he was a Vice President at Yahoo!, a company he served for nine years. Before that, he did the ‘startup thing’ (mySimon.com, sold to CNET in 2001). As a fresh-faced graduate from Brown University in the early 1990s, Adam got a first-hand look at all that was broken with Wall Street as an investment banking analyst for Merrill Lynch. Most importantly, he’s a devoted husband and dad.
Al Korelin, host of The Korelin Economics Report, has been involved in the financial community since 1967 when he received his B.A. degree from the University of Washington with a dual major in Economics and Russian literature. He went on to receive his Masters in Business Administration degree, with an emphasis Finance and International Trade, from the University of Puget Sound in 1978.
He founded A.B. Korelin and Associates in 1982. The focus of the company has always been on the mining industry. Al and his associates specialize in completing the regulatory work that needed to be done in order for Canadian mining companies to be traded in the United States on major exchanges.
Al also spends a considerable amount of time at investment conferences throughout North America. He is scheduled to speak and moderate panels due to his thorough knowledge of the investment community.
