MIF Letter Writers Share Their Top Picks for 2021

Peter Ball, Brent Cook, Chen Lin, Eric Coffin and Gwen Preston return as guests on this week’s radio program.

The junior gold and silver exploration stocks have been on fire and with massive monetary inflation required for the U.S. to fund its surging deficits to the detriment of the dollar, 2021 figures to be another banner year for companies able to make significant discoveries of precious metals deposits in the ground. Peter’s NV Gold Corporation has several prospects in Nevada that look promising, details of which he will share. Brent, Eric and Gwen are especially adept at locating companies with favorable risk/reward exploration prospects.

Chen shares his expertise in the biotech sector as all four guests share their views for 2021. Brent, Eric and Gwen won the gold, silver and bronze medals with their stock picks in a similar show in January 2020. So, they have been invited back this year.

Brent Cook, a renowned Exploration Analyst and Geologist, is the founder of Exploration Insights, a mining and exploration investment letter (www.explorationinsights.com). He has over thirty-five years of experience providing economic and geologic evaluations to major mining companies, resource funds and investors. He has worked in over 50 countries on virtually every mineral deposit type ranging from grassroots projects through feasibility studies and bank audits. He was the principal Mining and Exploration Analyst to Global Resource Investments through 2003 where he provided analysis to retail brokers and two in-house funds. His newsletter selectively covers junior mining and exploration investment opportunities.

Chen Lin, had been a doctoral candidate in aeronautical engineering at Princeton. However, Chen found his investment strategies were so profitable that he put his Ph.D. on the back burner to devote full time to private investing and writing a newsletter titled “What is Chen Buying? What is Chen Selling?”  Chen’s track record has been phenomenal!  In one account we track in which he used no leverage, he was able to grow $5,411 starting in 2002 to over $2.2 million by the end of 2012.  You can visit his website at http://chenpicks.com/

Eric Coffin is the editor of the HRA (Hard Rock Analyst) family of publications. Responsible for the “financial analysis” side of HRA, Coffin has a degree in corporate and investment finance. He has extensive experience in merger and acquisitions and small-company financing and promotion. For many years, he tracked the financial performance and funding of all exchange-listed Canadian mining companies and has helped with the formation of several successful exploration ventures. Coffin was one of the first analysts to point out the disastrous effects of gold hedging and gold loan-capital financing in 1997. He also predicted the start of the current secular bull market in commodities based on the movement of the U.S. dollar in 2001 and the acceleration of growth in Asia and India. Coffin can be reached at [email protected] or the website www.hraadvisory.com.

Gwen Preston is the Resource Maven. Years as a mining journalist with The Northern Miner and working along with Marin Katusa at Casey Research gave her a deep base of knowledge and a broad network of contacts in the resource sector. Then Gwen Preston decided to launch her own newsletter—Resource Maven—at the very bottom of the resource market. With a technical background, a strong network and years of experience, Gwen is not only finding winning mining stocks, but also telling investors when to sell and lock in big profits.

She understands which projects and pieces of news matter. She understands what it takes for a project to advance along the exploration-development-production path and what opportunities each stage offers. She knows how the metals markets work, alone and within the global economy, and how to profit from commodity cycles.Resources are Gwen’s world and she seeks to pass that knowledge on to others.
