Green Energy Leading to Investment Opportunities
Eric Coffin, Gwen Preston and Michael Hudson return. Setting aside the question of whether climate change is largely a function of human activities or natural geological or solar changes, the political reality is that hundreds of billions of dollars are being spent on an attempt to remove CO2 from the atmosphere. While Eric and Gwen may be best known for their analysis of junior gold and silver exploration companies, they also do deep dives into companies that explore for metals used in windmills and electric vehicles like copper, lithium, nickel, cobalt and rare earth elements. Solar panels require considerable amounts of silver but also less well-known metals like cadmium, gallium, germanium, indium, selenium, and tellurium. And don’t forget uranium required to fuel nuclear power plants. A growing number of environmentalists are now admitting that nuclear power is the only current technology that can deliver the energy needs of modern society without adding CO2, into the environment. Eric and Gwen will be asked for some promising junior exploration investment opportunities related to the push for clean energy. Both copper and silver are key clean energy metals and Michael Hudson’s Hannan Metals is exploring and developing projects having world class scale and grade for both copper and silver. Evidence of world class opportunity is evidenced not only by copper and silver grades but also by the emergence of two major mining companies as strategic investors as partners, namely and Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation aka (“JOGMEC”) and Teck Resources.

Gwen Preston is the Resource Maven. Years as a mining journalist with The Northern Miner and working along with Marin Katusa at Casey Research gave her a deep base of knowledge and a broad network of contacts in the resource sector. Then Gwen Preston decided to launch her own newsletter—Resource Maven—at the very bottom of the resource market. With a technical background, a strong network and years of experience, Gwen is not only finding winning mining stocks, but also telling investors when to sell and lock in big profits.

Michael Hudson is Director, CEO and Chairman of Hannan Metals. For the past 28 years he has developed and financed mineral exploration properties worldwide. He graduated from the Univ. of Melbourne in 1990 with a B.Sc. (Hons 1st) in Geology and received the Tolhurst Noall Prize for “Mining Investment Analysis” in Victoria , Australia for the FINSIA Graduate Diploma. He started his career in 1990 with Pasminco Ltd, the largest global integrated zinc producer during the 90’s, and spent ten years working with zinc-lead projects worldwide from exploration to pre-feasibility projects in Pakistan, Australia and Peru. He has raised over US$100M for primarily European focused exploration and project development in Finland, Spain, Portugal, Sweden and Ireland. Since 2004 he has headed Mawson Resources Ltd as founding Chairman, CEO and Director. He is also a founder and Chairman of Leading Edge Materials, a critical metals company in Sweden and a director of Hydro66 Holdings Corp.

Eric Coffin is the editor of the HRA (Hard Rock Analyst) family of publications. Responsible for the “financial analysis” side of HRA, Coffin has a degree in corporate and investment finance. He has extensive experience in merger and acquisitions and small-company financing and promotion. For many years, he tracked the financial performance and funding of all exchange-listed Canadian mining companies and has helped with the formation of several successful exploration ventures. Coffin was one of the first analysts to point out the disastrous effects of gold hedging and gold loan-capital financing in 1997. He also predicted the start of the current secular bull market in commodities based on the movement of the U.S. dollar in 2001 and the acceleration of growth in Asia and India.
