Chen Letter

 

What is Chen Buying? What is Chen Selling? This is a stock newsletter published and distributed by Taylor Hard Money Advisors, Inc., Publisher of J Taylor's Gold, Energy & Tech Stocks and Roger Wiegand's Trader Tracks.

Taylor Hard Money Advisors, Inc. has established a joint venture arrangement with Chen Lin, a Chinese doctoral candidate in aeronautical engineering at Princeton. Chen found his investment strategies were so profitable that he put his Ph.D. on the back burner. Even now when most folks are finding their retirement accounts declining drastically, Chen has continued to turn out exceptional profits using both a value-orientated approach as well as technical analysis for market timing.

Chen's track record is phenomenal!  He invests money for his family in several different accounts, some of which are more aggressive than others. But the one account we use to track his personal investment performance is his wife Emily's Roth IRA account. We use that one because it is the easiest to document and calculate returns.  In December 2002 that account was worth about $5,400.  By the end of December 30, 2011, this account had grown to $1,383,041 as per the following charts:

We are bullish on gold and gold shares because the economics of that industry has improved drastically. However, there are always exceptions to general rules and Chen makes a habit of locating "diamonds in the rough" representing exceptional values the rest of the market has overlooked.

MORE ABOUT CHEN:  Chen was born in Beijing, China. His parents were from an upper class that was discriminated against when the Communist Revolution took over. Both parents worked very hard during those difficult days and also managed to continue to educate themselves. Both parents are engineers and when restraints were removed from non Communist party members, both did very well professionally.

Chen Lin was a very successful student in China. He was selected among a special group of Chinese physics students. He was a top programmer at IBM and was also involved in the start up of IT companies during the dot com craze of the 1990s.  He was invited to work toward a Ph.D. in aeronautical engineering at Princeton. However, given his successful investments, he chose to focus his entire effort on building his family's wealth that way.

I am very fortunate to have met Chen Lin. He has become a very good friend. He and I trade investment ideas and I am happy to say that Chen's advice to an extent finds its way into the pages of my newsletter, J Taylor's Gold, Energy & Tech Stocks, as well.
